Today we finished the work on our pages on wikispaces. The last thing we did, was adding a link from youtube to our page. The film deals with the issue of xenophobia in South Africa.
Addionnally everyone of us has the task to write his text for the milestone 2 presentation for after the holidays.

During our english lessons we corrected our final conclusion for the last time. We checked all of our previous pages and we think that they are ready to be presented. Additionally we prepared our final presentation and we chose that we will only present a few quotes and our final conclusion.

Today we added a few pictures to our wiki. We also corrected all of our texts again especially the final conclusion. We are really trying to finish up our project.

During the Engish lesson today we finished our final conclusion. We overholed the text and chaged some grammatical faults. It took us a long time to conclude our final conclusion, much more time then we thought. Additionally we corrected some final faults in our texts that were marked by Mr. Gerber and Mr. Alean.

Today we nearly finished our conclusion about the whole Kaffir Boy project. It was, like in the conclusion we had written before, difficult to find out which the most important parts are for our conclusion. Therefore we allways thought about what we want to write before we write our text down, that made it much easier.
The other thing we did today was that we saw through the pictures of Mrs. Gerber and we took out the ones which are good for our pages about migrant workers.

During our double lesson today we finished up our correcting and we experienced some difficulties especially with one aspect. For us it was very hard to exactly describe the situation of migrant workers in China. We compared it with slavery and for this reason we had to explain how and why since it is not an official form of slavery.
Additionally we worked on our final conclusion of our whole Kaffir Boy project.

Today we finished the correction of our pages about migrant workers in Kaffir Boy, South Africa and in the Third World, which were corrected by our teachers. We had already started correcting our faults at home and Elio brought continued today. Besides that we continued writing our final conclusion in which we will analyse if the situation of migrant workers in Kaffir Boy is representive for the migrant workers in South Africa and the Third World.

Today we rehearsed our milestone 1 presentation while we did this we saw where we had some problems and where our themes are overlapping themselves. It was important to recognize where this overlappings were because like this we could be sure that we do not repeate us in our presentation.

This Morning we started writing the final conclusion about migrant workers in Kaffir Boy, South Africa and the Third World. Therefore we marked the most important parts in all conclusions we had written before and combined them in one text for the conclusion over all.
Everyone has the task for next monday to learn our texts for the milestone presentation so that we can practice it on next monday.

Today we wrote the conclusion about migrant workers in the third world. It was once more difficult not to repeat things that we had written before in the texts but to limit ourself to the important parts of the problem and to arrange the conclusion as interresting as possible. Therefore we picked up the problems that all three countries (China, India & Italy) have in common and wrote the text based on these problems.

Today we made the programm for our milestone presentation. We had a long time to decide how we want to present our theme because we can not use the computer for a powerpoint presentation because the important part of the presentation should be presented orally. Another problem was that we did not know how to present the dialogues in the book most suitable. Finally we decided that two of our groupe should read the dialog and the third one should say somthing about it.
We also finished our text about migrant workers in China so that we can start the conclusion about migrant workers in the third world.

This morning we continued editing our page about migrant workers in the third world. We wrote the final paragraph about migrant workers in China and started writing the conclusion about the probelm in the third world. Finally we chosed some of Mrs. Gerbers pictures for our pages.

Today we corrected the orthographic errors in the text about migrant workers in India and we started writing the text about migrant workers in China. We had some problems with editing our pages in the wiki but with Mr. Alean we could solve them rapidily.

In the first lesson we marked the most important passages in texts about migrant workers in China, India and Italy for our page about migrant workers concerning the third world. Afterwards we wrote a list of prompts for our page so that we had a scheme and knew how to structure our page. Later on we started editing our page about migrant workers in the third world. Therefore we wrote a text about the migrant workers in Italy an a text about them in China and India. In the end we combined them.

During our lesson today we finished our conclusion about migrant workers in South Africa and we already started correcting it. The most difficult part which we are still facing is that we have to write the text this way that it makes sense to a neutral reader without any knowledge. We also started collecting information about migrant workers in the third world in general.
Additionally we are getting frustrated with the topic since they are only small differences between the migrant workers in Kaffir Boy, South Africa and the third world. For this reason we have the feeling that we keep doing the same thing all the time.

This day we continued working on our text about migrant workers in South Africa. Right now we are only writing a rough draft and next week we will have to correct and improve it so that it will be ready to be published. A big problem is that we have to write the text this way that it is understandable to everyone even without any previous knowledge.

Today we started editing our page about the role of migrant workers in South Africa. Therefore we took the passages in which we had marked the most important parts in the last English lesson. First we took the passages we had marked and arranged them in a good order so that the text makes sense. Then out of that we wrote our own text for the homepage. It was very difficult not to use the same words as in the sources we had read, so it took us a long time to find the best word choice.

Last Friday during the geography lesson we though that we might can start editing our page about the role of migrant workers in South Africa. Today we had to realize that it is more work as we expected it to be. So we learn more about the topic by reading texts in the internet. While we read the texts wich we had copied into a word document we marked the important and interesting passages for that we remember them when we write the final text at the homepage.

During the geography lesson today we wrote a final conclusion for all of our quotes we wrote out the other day. We tried to link all the single interpretations together and summarize everything in one final conclusion. The difficulty was only to use the information we got from Kaffir Boy. Since we have made quite a few research on the internet so far it was hard not to use any of that information and strictly separate those things from each other.
We also did more research specifically on migrant workers in South Africa and so we think that we will be able to start editing that page the next time we work on our project.
Gerber: Please look at my two minor grammar notes on your first page.
Alean: It is good and important to point out such difficulties as you did above. This problem is a general one whenever you do research and will also crop up during your Maturarbeit: What is the resProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 t of your own research, what has been done by someone else? Today we started writing an interpretation to all of our quotes which we wrote out during the last double lesson. We did that individually and at the end we compared our results and tried to correct each others text.

Instead of having geography laboratory we received the double lesson in order to work on the Kaffir Boy project. We spent most of the time on doing research on the internet and on getting an overall idea of migrant workers all over the world. Additionally we added a few quotes.

We had our first meeting after all of us read the book Kaffir Boy. We used the time during the English lesson to exchange some general impressions and the most important passages.
